Please share your views on the activity of reading. So many of us enjoyed reading as a child only to lose that love of books as we grew older. What happened? Do you still like to read? What do you read? Where do you read? What is your favorite book ever? Author? If you don't like to read, please offer reasons why.

I have always loved to read ever since I was a little girl. I still love to read. I love Nicholas Sparks books. A lot of his books can relate to my life so it is easier to understand and enjoy. I need to read where I can concentrate and relax at the same time. With six younger siblings running around in a house with paper thin walls, I enjoy reading in my room where I can relax and get away from whatever else is going on.
What i think happened was that I got into more interesting things than reading when I was young so I just never ead for fun, after I found that new hobby. I seldom like to read because it just isn't fun to me anymore. I usually read in a quiet place like my room, or a library. My favorite book ever is probably To Kill A Mockingbird.
i actualy quite like to read i used to read more fiction but i have rtecently veered away from the world of ficftion and gone to instructional reading i am currently reading a book called "centered rideing" by sally swift she is (in my eyes) a visionary in the rideing community this book has so far inprooved my forme and understanding of my horse emensely before this book i read "angels and deamons " by dan brown and before that "watchmen " bty i dont know who so as you can see i jump around genras but rite now i must say my favorite auther is sally swift i dont think i will ever stop reading after i finish reading my current book i plan on reading "the hunt for red october" by tom clancy reading is something that can only benofit you and thats why i wont stop
Reading is not my forte. I don’t really read much. I’m more of a “Read When I Have Too Person.” I like looking around reading the things at random. Sometimes in a blue moon I pick up a book. However I just don’t pick up books on my free time, for entertainment. I don’t really get the strong rare urge to read. Reading articles online is amusing but books with a story line, is whole different tale. Instead of reading I like seeing pictures and viewing the world around me moment by moment. I watch the news more than I read books for fun. Yet I’ll still bet you ten bucks you won’t find me watching the news that much either. I know when I see a good book and know when I want to read it thou. Hopefully I’ll take up reading in my later life. Read a couple more good books this lifetime. It might be good for me. :)
At this moment, I am not one who enjoys reading. As I got older, I just didn't have the time to read anymore. I really used to love reading, though. But once I had more time in my schedule and I began to read again, I didn't find interest in it anymore. Honestly, I don't know why. I think it could possibly be due to the fact that with age, I also became more easily distracted. But, there are four books that I have read in my life time that, if given the opportunity, I would read them all over again. They are So B. It by Sarah Weeks, The Secret Under my Skin by Janet McNaughton, What Jamie Saw by Carolyn Coman, and The House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer.
I used to enjoy reading as a child alot but now i have grown to not enjoy it as much. What happend is that i used to read alot as a child that i just started to move away from it. I enjoy reading sometimes, when i am in the mood to read then i will read.I enjoy reading books about mysteries the most. When i read i usually read in my room. My favorite book ever is to kill a mocking bird by harper lee.
I never really grew out of books. I still love to read books it's just finding the time to sit down and start it. I like to read all kinds genres. I feel like the best book I ever read was Indentical by Ellen Hopkins. This book has a huge twist at the end, and I couldn't put it down. I usually read before i go to sleep, which I know is not the best choice, but it's the only time i have.
I hate reading because i can just never find a good book. the only good books i have ever read when i was not a child were The Giver and Rolling thunder hear my cry. i think that even though people don't like to read they have to just deal with it because it is a very important utilitie for advancing in life.
Reading is one of my favorite activities. When ever I get the chance I pick up a good fantasy fiction novel and read. I lovemaking images in my head and later matching them with a song and what the characters should look like. It gets my creativity pumping. Reading is also what motivated me to become a writer. Of course I still like to read, but I only really started to like reading when I was in eighth grade. I read a lot of fiction. I like fantasy fiction the most. I also love when the main characters are animals. I usually read on my bed, with my pillows stacked so I can sit comfortably. I sometimes adjust the lighting. My favorite book series would most likely be His Dark Materials. But I also love the Maximum Ride series. My favorite Author would be Maggie Stiefvater because she writes extremely well. Reading is an amazing activity and it has so many benefits.
I enjoyed reading as a little kid and still like to read when I have free time. I like to read a lot in the summer because I feel like I have so much time, whereas during the school year I have homework and projects to keep up on. My favorite genre would be mystery. I love the suspense that the authors supply’s. I don’t know if I have a favorite book….but my favorite series would be Pretty Little Liars which consists of eight books.
As I grew older I began to lose the free time i once had for books. when i was younger I was a competitive gymnast so plain rides and long car rides were a very good time to relax with a book. As i began middle school I started getting more and more homework which in the long run consumed much of my reading time. I only have time to read in the summer now and it has to be a book I am really interested in or else I will not read it. When I have time I do enjoy reading. I love reading realistic fiction or non-fiction because it is about something that has happened or something that could realistically happen. Usually in realistic fiction it is easier to relate to your life and experiences. My favorite book ever was "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Piccoult. Jodi Piccoult is my favorite author aswell. When I do have time to read, I read outside while I tan in the summer, in my room before bed, or in the car. I wish I had more time to read because I feel it can be relaxing and enjoyable.
Kids enjoy picture books cause the images capture their attention. If its not a picture book it will be boring. Reading is a whole new thing for a little kid. But has we grew older we become lazy and hate reading.
I actually do like to read but I have to be in the mood to read. Also the book has to interest me in order for me to read it. I like to read mystery and suspenseful genres. I usually read in my room while listening to my Ipod. I don't really have a favorite book, because it changes often.
By Alina B.When I was in fourth to sixth grade I used to enjoy reading but when I got older it became something that I would never do during my spare time. I feel like reading isn't as popular when kids get older because most would prefer to hang out with friends, go out or see a movie which is sort of like a book with images for a teenager. Since sixth grade I can't rember picking up and book and reading it because I wanted to. The only time I do read is when it is assigned by teachers. My favorite books were the Harry Potter series but when the movies began to come out I liked the films more than the books. However, if I had to pick a favorite author it would be J.K. rowling because she is very creative and her books make me feel like I'm in them. When I get assigned a book to read I usually lay in my bed before I go to sleep and read it slowly and in complete silence because if not I can easily get distracted.
My favorite book ever ws the Giver. I liked this book because it had a lot of important information.I think that the author is trying to say that you need pain to feel good.

When I was younger, the only time I enjoyed books was when my mom read them to me. Now, I do not like them at all. Actually, I hate books, and reading. I think it is extremely boring, and I can never stay interested or focused long enough to even finish the chapter because it's so boring. I don't have a favorite book, or a favorite author, but if I had to pick one, I would pick Dr. Seuss cause he's awesome. I would much rather wait for the movie to come out then read the book.
I have always loved to read. When i was little, i was the one with piles and piles of books. I still do truely love to read. I dont have as much spare time as i use to, inorder to pick up a book and start reading, but when i get the chance i wouldnt waste a minute of it. When i was little i loved the books with all the pictures of the characters. Now a day, i like the intense, very active, interesting, touching stories. The best books to read, is when you have somethin to relate to. Usually thats when you enjoy reading that book. And thats what i do, i find books that i can relate to and i know i wouldnt put down after reading the first couple chapters.

I feel what might have happened is as we got older over the years, unfortunately, we have become interested in other things besides reading. I personally still enjoy reading, but I like it the most when I am reading a book that I am interested in. I read books that have to do with genres like: action, adventure, and mystery, and I like to read them in my bed at night. For my favorite book ever, I would have to say that would be "Of Mice and Men." Also, for my favorite author, William Shakespeare would have to be the one. I enjoyed reading his plays that I have already read in school within the past two or three years.

I never really loved to read. When I was younger I read alot more then I do now. Now that im older I have less time to read becuase im always busy with homework and soccer. The last book I read was The Lovley Bones and that was like a year ago. I did like this book but I would'nt say it was my favorite. I dont have a favorite book.
I used to read a lot. I read only one book series now because I am such a picky reader. This also my favorite book(s). It is the "Alex Rider" Series by Anthony Harowitz. I guess I lost interest in reading because I was more interested in short articles and the newspapers as they are more relevant to people.
As a child, I began reading at an early age, and I always read for enjoyment. Once reading became a major part of school work, I find that I no longer read for purpose, merely to pass whatever test I will recieve. I most enjoyed the Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyer. Now, I read A.P. (Alternative Press) Magazine. It interests me because it's written by people who have common musical interests with me. I read at home, in a quiet setting, sometimes while playing music. Besides that, I don't read much.

When I was a child i thought reading was alright. However, as I progressed through my life I began to enjoy reading more and more, but, it is when a school requires me to read a certain book I have absolutely no interest in is when reading begins to be a lackluster experience. I like to typically read stories that are fast paced and are similar to "The Hatchet." When I read I like to read either in my living room or at my dining room table, however, if my parents are home and causing a ruckus I like to read in my room. My favorite book is a trilogy starting with "The Hunger Game" Catching Fire" and "Mockingjay" (I haven't read the last one yet). This series is by Suzanne Collins.

I think the reason why so many of us have lost the love of reading is because as we got older we were required to read books that didn't have any pictures so they were more challenging. Personally, I love to read. I have always enjoyed it. I always read non fiction books. Unfortunately, I usually choose my books my their cover. I have this thing where if the cover of the book looks boring and dull, I don't even bother to open it. Unlike many people these days, I read books for fun and on my own time, not because a teacher assigned it to me. I read normally at home or in the car. I honestly can read wherever. I can't really choose my favorite book ever. I do enjoy the Pretty Little Liars series by Sara Shepard. One of my favorite books is also Cracked Up to Be by Courtney Summers. I have so many favorites so it's hard to pick one! Overall, I think reading is fun if you find the right book, and one that interests you. (:
When I was younger I used to love to read all the time. I still love to read, but homework and sports consumes most of my time. Whenever I have the chance I’ll try and pick up a book. When I do find time I usually read a lot of Nicholas Spark’s books. I read in different places depending on the time of year. If it’s nice outside then I’ll sit in my backyard, but if it’s cold then I will by this giant window in my house. My favorite book is To Kill A Mockingbird, because it had a great message and showed how things change as you grow up. My favorite author is Nicholas Sparks, because all of his books relate to real life and he makes it easy for you to connect yourself to his writing.
I've always loved to read, i read a lot. Books have always kept me interested. My favorite book is Thirteen Reasons Why, by Jay Asher. It's a sad book but it's interesting and enjoyable to read. I dont really have a favorite author. but hopefully as i read more i'll find an author that i do enjoy.
To be completely and totally honest, I really dislike reading. When I was young I disliked it also. I guess reading just isn't my thing. My favorite book ever was when I read "The Outsiders" because it gave me such a good grasp of what life was like back in the days of juke boxes , $.99 Coke bottles and even leather jackets. My favorite author is probably J.K Rowling because of the Harry Potter books. Dan. M
When I was younger I used to read all the time for fun, but as the years went by I stopped reading for enjoyment. Instead of it being something fun to do when I was bored it started to became as if it was a job for school. What I think happened is that instead of reading I would go outside and hangout with my friends because that was more fun to do. I still like to read, but I only read when I have to for a project or home work. My favorite genre's are science fiction and non fiction books. When I do read a story or a novel I will usually read in my bed which isn't good because sometimes I fall asleep when I'm in the middle of the story. My most favorite book though of all time is The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton because I enjoyed reading about the battles of Soc.'s and Greaser's.
the reason why i lost the love of reading books is because i grew older and there are so many more interseting things i learned that i can do other then read books. No to be honest i dont like to read. if i were to read i would like to read in school where im not easily destracted. my favorite book ever would have to be Sixth Grade Sectrets. my favorite author is judy blum. i dont like to read because i get bored and i have to think alot if i dont understand something.
I personally don't like to read anymore. The only time I read is when i do it for school. I like to read in my bed. My favorite book ever has to be "To Kill A Mockingbird". I think it is because of all of these other entertainment devices.

We loose the love too read as we get older because of the fact that we can’t relate or that we have so much better things to do. What happened is that we all loved the pictures and the accomplishment we had when we were done was as big to us as we were little. I like to read sometimes but I really need to be in the mood and it needs to be interesting to me. I like to read all types of books but I like the ones based on sports and I like the books in a series because you get the ending you are looking for. My favorite book ever would have to be either Oliver twist or the pretty little liar’s series. I don’t have a pictorial author I like but I doo read a lot of Charles dickens. and i love to read in my backyard or in my room
I don't like to read anymore for fun. The only time I read is when i have to for school. If i had to choose a book that i enjoy it would be a tie between "The Giver" and "Of Mice and Men".
i dont really like reading most of the time but sometimes i do. the reason i dont think i like reading is beacuse i can never find a good book. one book that i liked that i read was to kill a mocking bird. i think i liked this book beacuse i saw the movie before reading it. the times i like reading is beacuse i can relate it to real life.
I think when we were younger reading was something fun to do and almost every child enjoyed it even if it was the cartoon pictures that interested them or the amusing character names. Once middle school hit, for most people, reading was eventually categorized in the “not-cool, nerdy group” and a lot of kids dropped it. Or another possible reason for the loss of reading is that with homework, sports and clubs, we just don’t have time to pick up a book. I think everyone is different so some people hate reading and others enjoy it, it’s just the way their brain works. Ever since I learned how to, I love to read. I usually go to the library and check out three/four books to last me the month. If it’s a really, really good book that I’m hooked on, I’ll spend all day reading, but normally during a school week I’ll finish the book in a week. I mostly read any type of fiction (fantasy, romance, mystery, etc) that seems interesting to me and has a strong plot. I just finished Almost Perfect by Brian Katcher and I am currently reading Wings by Aprilynne Pike and Les Miserables by Victor Hugo (this one is taking awhile). I love reading during long car rides, at the beach, in my backyard, and in my bedroom. I have read so many different books that I could not just pick one as my favorite. Some of my favorites are Crank (and the sequel Glass) by Ellen Hopkins, The Vampire Diaries series by L.J Smith, Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech, Skinned by Robin Wasserman, and the Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld.
I have always loved to read. In fact i still enjoy reading. My favorite genres are fiction, historical fiction and fantasy. My favorite books ever are the Maximum Ride series. I also like the book the Hitchhikers Guide To the Galaxy as well as the other books in the series. My favorite author is Douglas Adams.
I loved reading when i was little and I still love reading today. I usually enjoy realistic fiction, normally because realistic fiction is the closest genre that relates to my life. I usually read during the summer or during long breaks over the course of the school year. I try to read on my own during the school year but, it usually becomes too busy with my other school work to focus on a book I am reading on my own. Over the summer I like reading outside or at the beach. My favorite book series is Pretty Little Liars. I really appreciated the series even more when the book was created into a TV show because after watching the show, I realized how much better the books are from the TV shows.
I personally believe that as we grow older, it is not that we dislike to read, but it is more that we can no longer find the time to read. When you read a book you need to commit a large amount of time for your entertainment, whereas today you can just turn on the television or play a video game for entertainment, but you can get this entertainment in a drastically less time. My favorite book was "Holes" by Louis Sachar. I enjoyed this book because when I read it, I actually understood everything and the vocabulary was not to complex for me.
I've always loved to read. I read a lot with my family when I was younger and now I still read on my own. I don't think I'll ever stop reading. I like reading books about teenage girls like me because I can relate to them the most. I love reading because I can put myself into someone else's shoes and see the world from their perspective. I also love being able to picture everything in my head. It's almost like a movie. As much as I love reading, I find it harde during the school year to read. I don't have much free time with all of the homework and projects that I have to do, so it's hard finding time to read. However, I read in my room before I go to sleep every night. I'm not sure if I have a favorite book or author. I've read so many that I can't pick just one, but I do love the Pretty Little Liars series by Sara Shepard.
- Lauren T.
I love reading, but I don't read as much as I use to. What I think happened was that, I found other ways to entertain myself. Such as the computer, video games, music, sports, and hanging out with friends. I still like to read. What I read now is mostly what I'm assigned to read in school. I enjoy reading mystery and fiction books. I read in my room. My favorite book ever has to be "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee.
I don't like to read anymore. I got bored of it and i never really take the time to do it. Id rather just sit down and watch the movie version of a book. I get more into movies because its like everything summed up in 2 hours. It takes me like more then a week to read a book. The only books that i read is the ones that are being forced by school. I read in my room or at school. I dont have a favorite book either.
I used to read a lot when I was younger. But then as I got older and more into more exciting things I didn't read as much as I use to. I still enjoy reading but it depends on if I like the book. If it doesn't interest me it sits in my room for weeks on end without me ever touhin it but then I'll pick it up just so I can get it out of my room. But if I like the book I can't seem to put it down unless I have to. I usually like to read more fiction. I am currently reading "Catching Fire" by Suzanne Collins and it is very good. She is one of my favorite authors. She also wrote "The Hunger Games" which is the book that comes before the one I'm currently reading and this is a trilogy.
When I was younger I used to love it when my mom or dad read to me, now I don't just pick up a book and read. When I read it is more just for school but not really for fun anymore. I usually read romance or like movies that are books. My favorite book would be Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown. I don't enjoy reading as much as I used to because a lot of books do not get me hooked and it is very rare that I enjoy them.
I think what happens is as you get older you find that there is more things to do than read and eventually you find reading boring. Now when I read its magazines. I like to read Sports Illustrated, Car and Driver, and Motor Trend. I don't think I have a favorite book ever.
-Nick G.
I thnk that as you get older you don't have enough time to sit down and read. I have always loved to read and try to mke room for it in my schedule. I usully read in my roosm because it is quiet. I like to read non-fiction and mysteries. I don't have a favorite book, but one of my favorite authors is Madline L'Engle.
I think many of us enjoyed reading when we were younger because it was a newly obtained skill that we never had before. As we got older and got more used to the concept of reading, it became old news and kind of boring after a while. I personally still like to read but it has to be on something that sparks my interest. I usually read in my room so I wont get distracted or in the car. I like to read romance and drama books. My favorite series is "Summer Boys" by Natalie Abbott. I also really like the book I’m reading now, “Crank” by Ellen Hopkins.
i never used to like to read when i was younger, i think kids get the idea of not likeing to read from it being forced apon them in school, it was not until three or four years ago that i discovered i loved reading, and ever since i have never been without a good book to read when i'm alone. I enjoy reading more than almost anything else, and i learn so much from every book i read. I can read anywhere at anytime no matter if its noisy or quiet (however i prefer it to be quiet.) I do not have a favorite book ever, but some of my favorite authors include Cassandra Clare, John Flanagan, Alyson Noel, James Paterson, and many more. I think that people who do not like to read are played by the idea that it is not "cool" to read, and that they might discover a newfound love for reading if they would only let themselves enjoy it.
-Mike S.
From time to time I read but 80% of the time I don't. I never realy read through 2 or more series; of books because I didn't like reading books that didn't catch my attention from day 1. I read the series of Harry Potter because I enjoyed the movies. Normally I read in my room or living room because they are peaceful and quiet places. My favorite book would be one of the books from the series of The Magic Treehouse ones because I liked the adventures the characters went on. I do not remember the author of the series.
When we get older we find other hobbies that we enjoy more than reading. I personally do not enjoy reading. I think that its boring and I enjoy other things like sports so I dont really have time to read. Also I have alot of trouble reading. Once I read somthing I usually dont get it so I end up reading it 3 more times. But if i had to choose my favorite book it would have to be Little Rabit Fofo by Arthur Robins.
-Jessica Schook
I have always read since i was very young. I really enjoy it. I mostly read fiction and thriller books. I think id say that my favorite books would have to be the Eragon saga by Chris paolini. I think it is very important to read and i know i will continue throughout my life.
When I was younger, I used to love when my parents would read to me. Now, I definitely would not pick to read as my first choice as to what to do. Usually when I read, it's for school and not really for fun anymore. If I were to read a book, it's normally a book that's made into a movie or a book recommended from a friend. I think the reason I don't read anymore is because I can't find any good books that get me interested and I find it hard to connect to the books which usually makes it a lot easier for me to read. I normally just have to find the right book.
I never enjoyed reading. This dislike grew stronger with age because it was now instead of a activity it became a assighnment or task. Also along with age came new and better things to do. Also in the past teachers have assighned large amounts of reading in a short time spand with out consideration towards their student that have other comitmens like we all just go home and the only thing to do is read. The only book that I could call my favorite was James and the Giant Peach.
Alex B Per 9
I like to read, but I just don't read anymore because I don't have time anymore and I have a lot of other things to do besides reading that I like to do better than reading. Now, the only thing I read is books that teachers give me to read. I really don't know why I don't read when I have nothing better to do, but it is probably because my mind is too lazy to read. I used to love the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, especially Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, but these were the only books I remember reading besides books assigned by teachers. My dad used to read the Harry Potter books to me in the living room when I was very little, but later on I started to read them to myself on my bed in my room. Now, I always read at my desk in my room because that is where I do all of my homework, and all the reading I do these days is part of my homework. So I still like to read, or would like to, but I don't.
When, I was younger I used to read all of the time. One of the main reason why I lost interest was mainly because when i got older it was hard to find a good book to keep me interested while reading. Sometimes I still like to pick up a book and read. My favorite book ever would have to be "The Big Field" By Mike Lupica.
When I was younger, I never really enjoyed reading like all the other kids. I always was interested in literature that was above my reading level. I feel like I went backwards from everyone else. I enjoy reading so much now then I ever did as a young child. I read all types of literature, there really isn't a specific genre that I stick to. I tend to read a lot about astrology though. My favorite book ever is Push by Sapphire. I read all over the place. In my room, on the couch, outside. Wherever i feel like reading, I do.
I love to read alot, although the stories we have been reading this year honestly have not caught my attention at all. I love the whole Harry Potter series and the book Evermore. I think I have a one set mind meaning that I expect so much out of a book and if I don't see it in the second chapter I get dissapointed and give up.
As a child my thoughts of reading is that really never enjoyed reading because when I was a little boy my parents would take a part of my summer away from me and make me read long and boring books. So after that my thoughts of books is very bad and a waste of time. As I started to read more I've came to the conclusion that they are books that are some what existing to read. Even though I never liked reading my favorite book as a kid is "Charlie and the Chocolate", but I do not have a favorite author.
I loved reading kids books as a kid and as I got older I started to do other things with my free time. I think this happened because of the things I learned and what was more fun to me. Although I still like to read about the thnigs I like and like to do. I will read where ever I feel like it mostly in a car. I never had a favorite book but as a kid I liked Dr. Seuss.
Honestly I never liked to read, i cant honestly say i have enjoyed reading many books. My main reason is that i can't ever comprehend what i read. Like if i read a page of a book, after i am done reading it i still wont understand it, the words are blank to me. if a teacher asks me to read a question and asks me for the answer i will have to read the question another time to find the meaning of the question. That's why i hate reading, i actually read parts of Lord Of The Fly's and failed the quiz's because i couldn't comprehend what i read. Overall i did the blogs, i hope this shows you that i am trying harder, and that i do take your class seriously. i hope to pass this quarter and i am determined to do better next quarter.
I don't read that often but it depends on why I have to read it and what book it is. I only like books that have to do with something that relates to me, or something about music. I usually only read in my room.. but honestly most of the time I fall asleep doing so.
I never enjoyed reading as a child. I love reading now, but this is a relatively new activity of mine. When i was younger I found reading to be a tedious and boring process that was only used in school, but once my friends introduced me to different books I began to enjoy reading. I enjoy reading realistic fiction type stories, because it seems like they could have happened but their not restricted by the actions of the past like in non fiction writing. My favorite book is The Prisoner of Azkaban from the Harry Potter series, and my favorite author is J. K. Rowling. I normally read in my basement because it's quiet and the fireplace and atmosphere offer a comfortable environment.
I think the reason that I don't read anymore is that there is more things for entertainment. I don't really like to read anymore, the only reason I've recently read is for school. When read I normally read in my room.
One of my favorite books is "To Kill a Mockingbird."
I don't hate reading, but I am not very patient when it comes to reading so I lose interest very quickly. If I am forced to read a book, I usually get into it and I begin to enjoy it. (Lord of The Flies)If I had to pick a favorite genre, it would be horror because I love watching horror movies. If I have to pick a favorite book, it would be Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss because I grew up reading that book.
Personally i feel that i would read alot more if not so much was happening each day. My favorite type or genre of story is an adventure or fantasy almost where i can just create a world in my head and i feel when i find the right book i can just go on reading it. its just that i never have enough time to sit down and read because honestly it is time consuming. When i do read i have to at my own pace. I would read alot over a vacation if i have downtime or on a trip but it would have to be in a quite place. I read in bed or on a cuch nowhere specif just a place thats quite where my mind can wander off. The best book i ever read was Dragon rider because it was about a boy living in London who is introduced to this entire new world of dragons and other creatures fighting for their civilization. It let my mind wonder and create characters, voices, scenery, events and how each characters personality is displayed based on the book and my opinion. It let my mind create a world that i can explore even though it was all mine in the first place. Kyle O.
As a child I never liked to read. I never had any interset in the books that we were forced to read by the school. However in the past 4-5 years I have gained a great interest in Heavy Metal music, and I enjoy reading books about it wether its just one band or the genre as a whole
I only read books when i have nothing else to do. My favorite book is twilight. I like to read on my bed or on my seat by my window. my favorite book as a child was grandpa bud.

as we become older we loose intrest and loose time to read books. When i was like i would always get boooks read to me but as years went on i started reading to my mom. Up until about forth grade i stopped reading for fun because i lost time and intreast but now i only read the books assigned to me because i can not maybe find a book that i like other then to Kill a Mockingbird by Haper Lee. That book is the only book that i have read reacently that has kept my intrest and thaqt i liked.

As a child I was constantly exploring new books, curiously exploring, and learning with every page. I loved to read books as a kid, because of the diversity. One minute you could be sailing around the West Indies in Treasure Island, the next minute you can be part of a heroic tale in a classical setting, or for a less glorious example, reading a textbook for information. However, the main purpose for reading in my life is to learn. I read a book to learn the story, the message, the lesson. I still like to read though, in fact this summer I red over 15 books and over 5,000 pages! I usually read outside, the fresh air, warm summer breeze, its an appealing atmosphere to slip into and read. Sadly, I have not nearly as much time as i would like to read, but when i do I am usually reading a book that gets me thinking. My favorite Authors are: Dinesh D’Souza, Malcolm Gladwell, Tom Clancy, John le Carré, and Steve Levitt. My all time favorite book is Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell, its an amazing social study of success, however Whats so Great about America by Dinesh D’Souza. Not because of the title, but because it looks at the rise of the Western World, the importance of capitalism, Christianity, and democracy.
As a child growing up I never really had an interest in books. I think the reason for this was because of the fact that they never really grasped my attention until now. I found out that books are like watching a really long movie that teaches you life long lession.
